Our staff is a loyal and talented group of students and teachers who, in nearly all cases, share a long bond with Wachusett, having spent their youth as Campers before graduating to Counselors-in-Training, Junior Counselors, and dedicated Counselors. They focus on making the camp experience fun filled and substantive. Each staff member demonstrates their enormous affection for Wachusett by always doing whatever it takes to make every activity and each day a great experience for our campers.
It is worth noting that between the director, assistant director, program director and head counselor, there is a sum of more than 100 years of association with Camp Wachusett.

Ollie Martin - Assistant Director -Trips Director - Waterskiing
Singapore
Ollie has been associated with Camp Wachusett since 1996 and has served on staff in many different positions over the years. As Assistant Director, he is dedicated to seeing that all aspects of camp operate smoothly. He plans and carefully coordinates overnight trips. He also works diligently to help manage the kitchen. During the school year, he and significant other, Heather, teach in Singapore.
Nick “Chief” Avery
Staff Diector

As of summer 2024, Nick has attended camp for 17 years and has been a counselor 11 years. With a vast experience spanning over a decade, he now serves as the Staff Director. Chief's off-duty passions include video games, basketball, and socializing, making him a well-rounded and approachable figure at camp.
Stefanie Wilbur - RN
Orwell, VT
Stefanie is our registered nurse. She has been with us for seven years. Her leadership and guidance is a huge reason why we remained safe during Covid. Stefanie has served in the US Army and also at Rutland Regional. We are very fortunate to have her on staff. She also takes many of our camp pictures and enjoys communicating with parents. The whole Wilbur family has been very generous to Wachusett. They have provided fresh milk and vegetables from their farm and hosted our whole camp on numerous occasions for tours of their farm. We greatly appreciate the cows and chickens they loaned to our camp and the vegetable garden they bring to our camp each summer. Stefanie also coordinates the horseback riding program.
Joseph Meima -Waterfront Director,
Lifeguard and Swimming Instructor

Starting his journey in 2008 as a camper and joining the staff in 2017, Joe has become an integral part of Camp Wachusett. As waterfront director and lifeguard, Joe brings enthusiasm and a deep commitment to safety and skill development in the water. His passion and dedication to helping every camper achieve swimming confidence and proficiency ensures a fun and safe environment on our waterfront.
Simon Nesbitt -
Lifeguard & Swimming Instructor, BCK
Chevy Chase, MD
Simon has been at Wachusett for 11 years. He is fluent in French and plays ice hockey. In addition, Simon was a competitive swimmer for 6 years and is very comfortable and confident in the water. Simon attends Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA
Alexis Crocilla - Woodshop
Lyon, France
Starting as a young camper in 2010 with limited English, Alexis became a staff member in 2019. Now bilingual and based in France, he brings an international perspective to our team. As the lead of the Woodshop program, Alexis guides campers through the creation of everything from simple boxes to complex Adirondack chairs, with a focus on safety and the proper use of tools.
Austin Weiss - Sailing
Manchester, ME
This summer was be Austin’s 11th year at Camp Wachusett and 4th year on staff. He attends Northeastern University. Austin is amazingly accurate with a frisbee, enjoys sailing, golf, hockey and plays piano.
Dimitri Vassiliou - Tennis
Potomac, Maryland
Dimitri has been at Wachusett for four Summers. He enjoys playing tennis and he competed in a Marathon during camp. Dimitri attends Villanova University
Henry McCullough -
Basketball - Waterskiing
Henry joined Camp Wachusett as a camper in 2019 and quickly became a beloved staff member by 2022. His enthusiasm for basketball has made him an integral part of our sports program, where he shares his skills and knowledge with campers on the court. Henry's approach to basketball instruction focuses on honing both individual and team offensive and defensive skills, ensuring that every camper finds joy and improvement in their game. Henry attends Virginia Tech.
Rudy Milliken - Archery
Lake Worth, FLA
Rudy has been with Camp Wachusett since 2016, initially joining as a camper and becoming a staff member by 2022. He leads the archery program, combining his love for the sport with a dedication to teaching campers. Rudy's enthusiasm help campers of all skill levels advance, emphasizing safety, technique, and fun in every session.
Hank Scott -Waterskiing
Greenwich, CT
Hank Scott first joined Camp Wachusett in 2013 as a camper and transitioned into a staff role by 2023. As water ski instructor, he shares his knowledge and passion for waterskiing with campers. Hank not only excels in waterskiing but also enjoys basketball, rowing and being a cabin counselor. Hank sets a great example of teamwork and dedication.
Edward Lever - Boating, Canoeing, and Kayaking, Campcraft
England
Edward will be joining us in 2025. He has extensive hiking and camping experience including week long trips during all seasons through the UK. He spent time as a Sea Cadet, during which he became an experienced kayaker, paddle boarder, and windsurfer. He also has experience with sailing and motorboating. He enjoys rollerblading, ropes courses and bicycling.
Duncan Weiss -
Riflery
Manchester, ME
Duncan has been attending Camp Wachusett for the past ten years. Last summer was his first as a counselor. Duncan is currently attending Trinity College. Duncan enjoys music, reading, writing, philosophy, hiking, lacrosse, hockey and golf.
Reed Nester - Life Guard - Swimming Instructor - Knots / Splicing
Silver Spring, MD
Reed has attended Wachusett for 11 summers. 2022 was his first as a counselor. He attends Bucknell University. Reed enjoys playing guitar, swimming, wrestling and organizing yard games. Reed runs his own day camp when not working at Wachusett.
Will Perez -
Tennis
Chevy Chase, MD
Will has been at Camp Wachusett for five years as a counselor. Will graduated from Walter Johnson High School, and attends Elon University.
Will enjoys going to the beach, surfing, and hanging out with friends.
